Simulate a mobile web browsing experience
Written by Subhankar
Browsing the Internet on your favourite mobile phone is no longer painful. Life has become much faster and needs require more mobility. While no one would wish to surf in a fixed position for a long time with an actual desktop computer, today's mobile handsets offer a better surfing experience, that even if you haven't tried it for yourself, that you can still check out using Opera's "Opera Mini Simulator".
We will look at the Opera Mini Simulator, a browser specially designed to meet your mobile needs. One way is to use the Opera Mini Simulator. Opera offers a simulator, which can be used to test your website’s accessibility on mobile devices.
Step1
Open www.operamini.com/demo. It will automatically start loading the simulator and you need to wait for a few seconds.

Step2
Enter the URL of the website you want to test and view. Press ‘enter’ on your keyboard to proceed.
As it is no different from any web browser, you can also get the URL of the website you don’t know by Googling it. You will find the Google search bar.
I have opened the ‘How To Be Mobile’ homepage to test.

Step3
When the webpage appears, use your mouse to navigate. You can scroll down the web page by clicking the arrow keys on the phone simulator. You can also use your mouse to scroll down.

Step4
The Opera Mini 4 beta simulator shows an entire page on the small screen. You see a tiny representation of the ‘How To Be Mobile’ home page. Just click on the area you want to view or click the zoom button just below the simulator screen.

Step 5
If you are convinced and want to download the simulator to your mobile phone, just click the ‘Download’ button at the top.

You will find three download options – Quick Download, SMS Link and PC Download.

‘Quick Download’ is the recommended option as it downloads the simulator directly to your phone.
