How to take your customized desktop with you in a mobile device
Are you a frequent traveler like me? You carry your personal notebook with you everywhere, but wish to see your desktop in the office. Well, it’s now possible. You can carry your office desktop in a pen drive, and view it on your mini-notebook. It is like swapping your ultramodern desktop with a tiny pen drive for portability. Now you can enjoy your stunning list of apps from any where. Really cool, isn’t it? Here is how.
MojoPac software can be downloaded from MojoPac website; the set up file is 21.6 MB long. Now you can install MojoPac in your pen drive, external hard drive, or any USB2.0 enabled device. I downloaded it in my SanDisk 2GB pen drive, but you can download it in external hard drives, iPods and mobile phone too.
After finishing the installation process, a virtual XP desktop will be created inside your pen drive. It will have Internet explorer, your personalized version of Outlook Express, Windows Messenger, along with My Documents, My Pictures and My Music. You can now register at the MojoPac website and create a username and password for your personal MojoPac desktop.
The whole interface is fantastic; it gave me a felling that I am still working on my desktop. It has the task bar, start menu, icons, and desktop shortcuts quite similar to my XP powered computer.
Now you can start uploading your favorite apps and files from your computer. There is one additional advantage of MojoPac— you can access all the drives of MojoPac desktop from your host computer. However, while using MojoPac desktop, you can access only limited drives of the host computer.
You can also customize your desktop wallpaper and other settings just like your desktop. You can load your music files or your favorite games to your MojoPac desktop. I uploaded RealPlayer, some games, Firefox and web messengers in my desktop. I had a chat with my friends on Skype and played some music on QuickTime too. I also watched a movie in the player. I did some Internet surfing and wrote this article on Zoho Writer.
Another benefit is that my pen drive is not blocked; I can still continue to use it. But the best part is that my host computer is not stalled; I can swap between my computer and MojoPac desktop anytime by a switch button on the top. The only disadvantage is that it is a bit slow as the whole interface is operating from a pen drive.
It is definitely a secured way of carrying my desktop with me conveniently. Imagine, I can load MojoPac in an external hard disk, and can have all my applications downloaded, installed and ready to use on any mobile device from anywhere in the world. I can now have my personalized version of desktop even in my mini-notebook.
