A doctor for your mini-notebook
Written by Narmad
After a tiring day in my office, I often rely on YouTube videos in my mini-notebook to unwind on my way back home. Yesterday, I became the centre of attraction in the bus, when I started playing the epic Wimbledon encounter between Federer and Roddick in the YouTube. A curious onlooker asked me how I could play a high definition video so well on my mini-notebook. I advised him to try Memory Improve Ultimate to boost the performance of his mini-notebook. Check out how.
Novices like me tend to open and run a number of applications in the mini-notebook at the same time, without bothering about its resources. Memory Improve Ultimate is a powerful application to optimize the performance of your mini-notebook. It also keeps an eye on the system resources. Click here to download Memory. The application is ideal for maintaining your mini-notebook in great health. The process to install the 4.45MB program is quite simple. The graphical user interface of Memory is quite similar to our own ‘Windows Task Manager’. However, unlike Windows Task Manager it has lots of feature-rich add-ons, which make it a useful tool for mini-notebooks. This is a free download designed for both new as well as advanced users.

Memory has assigned five tabs to its interface, which display the status of different resources in your mini-notebook. How to free my wasted RAM from irrelevant processes was my first major concern. I just had to click ‘Reclaim’ in the ‘Overview’ tab to free my RAM manually. When I bought my mini-notebook, my computer expert advised me to periodically defragment my mini-notebook to get rid of contigious temp files from the hard drive, which might freeze or slow down my mini-notebook. I always get confused when I look for the ‘Disk Defragmenter’ option in Windows XP. After I installed Memory, I just need to click the cool ‘Defrag’ button to maximize the resources of my mini-notebook.

Click the ‘General Tab’ to set the parameters to compress or free memory. If you are someone who often forgets to free your computer memory manually, you can check the option ‘Free memory automatically’. You can also move the slide bar to set the time interval for freeing the RAM automatically.

You can adjust the visual effects of your window in the ‘System’ tab. You can move the slide bar to choose five situations such as, ‘Adjust for best appearance’, ‘Adjust for best performance’, ‘custom’ and ‘Windows choose what is best for my computer’.
If ‘Large system cache’ option is enabled, all the free memory, which is not being used by the system or any other application, can be used for disc caching. This option can benefit mini-notebook users who have limited hard drive space. Using ‘Large system cache’, you can effectively use the available resources in your mini-notebook to open different applications or toggle between different windows faster.

If you want Memory to notify you about the performance of your hard drive, ‘Memory State’ will detect the system’s memory in the background and display the your current status in real time, using terms such as great, good, medium or bad. Of course, you do have the status bar as well.

‘Memory Improve Ultimate’ is taking great care of my mini-notebook. Now, I can continue to distract my fellow office goers with Wimbeldon videos in the bus.
