I thought I was very careful while downloading new free add-on or freeware to improve my browsing experience on my Samsung NC20. I scan a lot of websites for the right application. However, I realised that being careful was not enough. Certain websites can install malicious programs by using active content tools like ActiveX Control. When you start a browsing session via Sandboxie, it catches all the changes just when your browser is ready to apply the changes on the hard drive of your computer. Although Sandboxie records all the changes on the hard drive, it records them in a special isolated folder called ‘sandbox’.

Sandboxie helps you get rid of all the changes made by your browser simply by deleting the temporary Sandboxie folder. Although Sandboxie loads and starts automatically, you can configure Sandboxie for occasional use as well.

Sandboxie works like a first line of defense for your netbook. Although it cannot be equated with traditional antivirus software, it does complement the software.

After installing Sandboxie on my notebook, I am confidenet that my netbook will remain free of spyware and malwares from the web.
