How to carry a digital dictionary online and offline
English is undoubtedly a universal language and according to Oxford English Dictionary, the language has millions of words though an average person like me has a vocabulary of only 20,000 words. I have often come across difficult words and needed my dictionary on the move. It's now easy to carry our dictionay online in gadgets like netbooks, thanks to Wordweb for integrating the whole paper dictionary into our computers.
While there are many ways to find out the meaning of any word, an online dictionary is the best the tool apart from the normal paper dictionary, which may not be a good option while travelling. We can reach out to search engines like Google and Bing for word meanings, but unfortunately, they are availbale only online! Even if you are offline and want to check the meaning of a word, you can always use 'WordWeb'.

WordWeb is a comprehensive, one-click English dictionary and thesaurus software for Microsoft Windows. You can use WordWeb to look up for any word. You can access WordWeb from almost any program to know definitions, synonyms and related words. WordWeb also includes pronunciations, usage examples and helpful spelling and 'sounds-like' links.
Getting started
To get a copy of WordWeb for your computer, simply visit the WordWeb's official website. There are two versions of WordWeb you can choose from: Basic and the Pro version. Basic is absolutely free and Pro version will cost you USD 19.00 for a single user license. The difference between Basic and Pro version are:

I have downloaded the free version. Once you have downloaded WordWeb on your computer, simply run the .exe file and follow the wizard to install it on your system.

During the installation, you will be prompted to choose your English locale. Select the appropriate option and hit the Install button to complete the setup.

Once the setup is complete, WordWeb is ready to use. To search any word, hold the Ctrl key and click the right button of your mouse. You can also initiate WordWeb by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+W key combination. These are the default hotkeys, which can be changed using WordWeb's 'Options' Menu.

Using WordWeb is very easy. Once installed on your system, I am sure you will rarely go back to your old paper dictionary!
Oh! I forgot to tell you a secret tip about WordWeb's free version. WordWeb sometimes pops out a dialog box asking if you take at most two commercial flights (not more than one return flight) during any 12 month period. If you answer that you fly more than this, you'll need to purchase the Pro version. So be ready to answer this tricky question and have fun with WordWeb.
