VIDEO: VIA @ Computex 2009 - GMB

How to keep track of the latest trends in mobile computing

gmb-logo-final-smallComputex kicked off in Taipei today, with hundreds of companies from around the globe arriving to show off their latest products. The H2BM team will be attending the show all week and posting a video each day that looks at the products and displays at the VIA booth located in room 201D of the TICC.

With a bunch of exciting new products and concepts to show off, first up today is a look at the Global Mobility Bazaar (GMB) display.

The GMB is an alliance established last year as part of VIA's long-term commitment to inspire innovation in mobile computing devices. Basically, along with other leading component vendors such as American Megatrends (AMI), InnoLux, ITE Tech, PQI, SanDisk and TD Hi-Tech, VIA shares its technology and expertise in order to put together complete mini-note PCs that can be branded and sold by pretty much any company wanting to enter the rapidly growing mini-notebook market.

What this means is that if a person or company has a great idea for an innovative mini-note design or concept, transitioning that idea to a real, saleable product is now much easier. One of the GMB’s key goals is to offer a broader choice of innovative devices for the consumers.

I’ll let Tim fill you in on the rest and give you a look at some of the devices the GMB has spawned…
